The Jurupa Dinosaurs

While driving on Highway 60 into Riverside last weekend, we saw this enormous metal mammoth on the side of a hill.  What in the world?  No way could we continue without checking this big guy out.  Turns out there were many more of these creatures wandering all over the hills.

Walking among folk art renditions of dinosaurs and extinct mammals.  Can't think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

These marvelous sculptures are located on the grounds surrounding the Jurupa Mountains Discovery Center.  Although not very realistic as dinosaurs go (and a bit weather worn), they are whimsical renditions of creatures that we can only dream about.

We stayed up here until the sun began to lower.  Finding such secret places is exactly why I love, love, love to get out and explore this world I find myself living in.  Ya just never know what you're going to find!
